Delete your account

In the app

1. Open This Family and go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
2. Download a copy of everything you shared, if you'd like one.
3. For each of your posts, choose to delete it or give it to your family.
4. Confirm. A parent can delete a child's profile the same way from the child's settings.

By email

If you can't sign in, email privacy@thisfamily.app from the email address on your account, or tell us the phone number on it. We'll confirm the request with you before deleting anything.

What gets deleted

• Your sign-in details, email address, phone number, profile details and settings.
• Your messages and any posts you chose to delete, with their photos, videos and recordings.

What stays

• Posts you chose to give to your family.
• Your name in the family tree, so your relatives' tree still connects. You can ask us to remove your name as well.
• Records we must keep by law, such as purchase records, for as long as the law requires.

We delete account data within 30 days of your request, and it leaves our backups within 90 days after that. See our Privacy Policy for details.
